Stop Sabotaging Your Dreams

Eight Ways To Stop Sabotaging Your Dreams
Learn to recognize the subtle and obvious ways you stop yourself from living your dreams and try something new!

  1. Sabotage: Negative self-talk and self-doubt are useless.
Point to Practice: Our thoughts create our reality. Watch what you are thinking.
  2. Sabotage:  Putting your fears into your dream will kill the dream.
Point To Practice: Fear is part of reality. Learn from it and use it to your advantage.
  3. Sabotage: Vagueness can keep you confused.
Point to Practice: Write and speak about your dream clearly.
  4. Sabotage: "It's just a dream.
Point to Practice: Make it real by designing realistic projects, with "due dates."
  5. Sabotage: Unrealistic deadlines lead to disappointment.
Point to Practice: Create tactics, the single items "to do" and take it a step at a time.
  6. Sabotage: Loss of perspective can send you into a frantic state.
Point to Practice: Report accurately on where you are and what you need.
  7. Sabotage: "I'll do it myself."
Point to Practice: Get help and build Dream Teams.
  8. Sabotage: If you kill yourself in the process, you won't get to enjoy the dream.
Point to Practice: Take care of yourself so you're available to live and enjoy your dream.

In no way can a new result come about when we remain consistent with old methods of sabotage. The reality of it all is, you must change your thoughts to create a new beliefs and feelings. Only then will you see a new result, or outcome. Why do we continue to hold onto self sabotaging behavior? I believe it is just easier to do what you already know. Even if it means a bad outcome. Often you get a free kick at the 'Victim Mode' can, and hope for sympathy from others. None of that is uplifting, or good use of your own personal energy.

As point #2 above states : 'use any fear to an advantage by learning from it" This is what is meant by turning an obstacle into a learning. Ask yourself if the fear is real, or imagined? Most times, we are fearful of something that is just not true anyway, which is really nothing more than poor use of your energy.

To truly gain new outcomes take a good look at what you think. You have all the power to change what you think, anytime you want. Have a good base of grounded support around yourself. Consider hiring a coach, or use an honest friend who will be committed to helping you move forward; not sabotaging yourself. Be open to new ideas and gain lots of new energy.

Albert Einstein says, "nothing happens until something moves" and my other favorite quote from Albert goes like this...

"You can't solve a problem on the same level that it was created. You have to rise above it to the next level."

So get ready to take action. It's your call. It's your dream.
