In the NewsProcrastination or Disorganization?Procrastination or Disorganization: Which Comes First? What’s the leading cause of procrastination? It’s a well known fact, according to behavior experts, that disorganization is the key cause. What then, is the simple solution to this problem? Why, it is developing a new positive habit. In a short time, as little as 21 days, experts believe a new habit takes root to push away the old habits that just weren’t working. It’s really the Law of Substitution at work. You may ask about this so-called Law. It’s invisible, just like the Law of Gravity; always working, whether we see it or not. A few of the reasons why people procrastinate are; not having the right tools, skills, or time to finish a project. Is this you? It could be setting unrealistic goals, not knowing how to make decisions, or have fear of failing. Is this you? What if you are easily distracted by TV or the computer ? Well, fear not! Step one is acknowledging you are procrastinating, or ‘putting it off’ until later. Take hold of the Law of Substitution, firmly, and see it work to your benefit. This is how the Law works. Part One: Identify Part two: Action Plan Part three: Visualize Part four: Feel Simply apply the Law of Substitution and DO IT. Now, take the next 21 days on your calendar and mark them off in a bright color. Start now to substitute the new approach. Keep track, and keep doing it. This will become the new habit, leaving no room or time for the old habit. Voila! Our mind can only hold one thought at a time. Make it a positive one, and tell yourself you are on track now. Enlisting the help of a coach can be of great benefit, because of the component of accountability. You have set forth the intent, and your coach will be the partner to keep you on track. What are you waiting for? How do you see the next 21 days?
