Hello,

So here we are- the first official full week of 2008- from a business point of view! Once we get over the holidays, it's "back to business" as they say. Here at Coachs Corner I want to help you make 2008 Great !

Coachs Corner Newsletter is the place to Build, Share & Grow ideas

In this January issue:

* Goal Setting for 2008
* Time to Debrief your 2007
* YouTube - Food for Thought with Louise Hay
* Upcoming Seminar ~ Free The Heart
* Life With Lesley

ImageA Ford Foundation Study on Goal Setting Makes Surprising Discovery

23% have no idea what they want

67% have a general idea of what they want but no plans of how to get it

only 10% of people have specific well-defined goals but of them only 7 out of 10 reach their goals 50% of the time

the top 3% of the people in the study achieved their goals 89% of the time.

the ONLY difference between the top performers and the rest

- was that the top 3% WROTE DOWN THEIR GOALS !

This is a key time of year to sit down and write out your vision and goals for 2008- personally and for your career or business. OK- go get your pen & paper - let's get started.

Here is a couple of Idea Starters for your goals list:

-->What activity worked well and brought me success last year that would I like to repeat or continue to do in 2008 ?

or

-->What is one new thing that if done consistently, would make the biggest difference in my life and/or business for 2008?

Debrief Your 2007

Here’s a definition for de-briefing:

A debriefing is a meeting ( a review) in which participants ( that’s you ) in a project, meeting, or other effort ( that’s Life) determine if the goals and objectives have been met, what worked well and should be incorporated in future processes, what needs improvement for the next time, and what learning occurred.

For a down loadable, Debrief Worksheet, simply send me an e-mail and put 2007 in the Subject line. I'll be happy to send you your free short, yet powerful worksheet. You can see what worked and what didn't in 2007- then you can chart out your goals for 2008!

Free The Heart seminar with David Jones
David has spent the last 25 years of his life becoming a master teacher in the field of human potential. His teachings are based on the life changing principles of Love, Forgiveness, Truth, Freedom, Trust, and Safety. He currently resides in Victoria, BC

Free the Heart is an experiential weekend that consists of life changing lectures, small group, and large group exercises, all conducted in a confidential environment. During the weekend you will have the opportunity to:
• Learn the importance and value of being more loving in all your relationships
(and what it’s really costing you not to have this!)
• Forgive past resentments and hurts
(and the harm that holding a grudge does to your physical body)
• Heal experiences of broken trust and promises
• Tell the truth about what is significant to you in your life
• Discover why it is important to feel safe at home and in the World
(you’ll better understand why you feel stressed and what you can do about it.)
• Experience the freedom and exhilaration of living with a free heart

Just about everyone who goes through Free the Heart comes out of it feeling exhilarated, rejuvenated and happier than they did before the workshop. Here is what one past participant said in trying to sum up her experience of “Free the Heart:”

Discover what Free the Heart can do for you by coming to our introductory evening near you. For more information about the complimentary evening go to ~ sign up for David's newsletter here too, I have receiving it and love it. See you at the Intro night!

Life With Lesley

For new readers who may not know Lesley, she checks in with us each month. Her goal is to lose 170 lbs! That's right- wow. She fills us in since December. I love her 'new approach' for 2008- a new agenda, and some new runners. With something as simple as a fresh new agenda, we remind ourselves we are honoring something important enough to record. Great idea Lesley....

Happy New Year! and nobody can be happier than me!!!
Hope everyone had a great time over the holidays
I had a great time at Christmas and New Year in fact all of December was a great big holiday for me.
Well, this week I weighed in and I had only put on 7.5 pounds. What stands out the most? Must give myself more credit although I did eat the things on the naughty list I did not eat a lot of it, and I was drinking more wine than water, and watching movies rather than moving me.
Totally out of my normal healthy routine. I learned to be more prepared for the slip-ups, suck it in and go back on the plan.

It's only hard when I am not in control of what I eat, going to peoples houses for dinner, having guests over... I need to be more truthful to them and tell them what I can eat.. Prepare my friends for having me, or let them know that I will bring my own, Yes that's it!!! I have to be strong and more open. New years resolution let my friends know what I can eat and when!!

I have bought all my correct food and even a new agenda book to keep me right. I have stored lots of food that I can eat and not go wrong. It was great to see Shelley, at the Chilliwack weigh in and she was so encouraging and supportive. I know that this is going to be my year.

Thank you Cathy for allowing me to share this with your readers. I want to put another picture in around the summer time to show everyone how much I have lost, so I had better get started...

I have my treadmill in place my, new runners on.
Good Luck to all and thank you for all your support.
Look forward to seeing you next month
Cheers,
Lesley,
