Life - It's a Risky business ! Risk- or- "the name on the door that opens on opportunity"
What is your overall feeling to the concept of risk? And are they all negative? Maybe you can think of a time when you took a risk that worked out. Why did that work? If we never take a risk when opportunity is staring us in the face, how can we ever have the experience, or move forward? Any time you move forward, if you think about it, you probably have just taken some kind of risk.
Here's an example. Years ago ( read: many years ago) when I turned 16, I had the opportunity to go for my drivers licence in January of that year. I had no self confidence, so I put it off. Tried to say it was no big deal, all this driving stuff. But secretly I really wanted to drive a car- you bet I did! However, I put off getting my test done so long that lots of my friends were now driving, and I wasn't. Not cool. So, after I decided I had to do this, and yes I may fail the first time. But I really wanted to move forward more than I was prepared to stay stuck.
So -- I took the risk. I buckled down to study the book, get some after dinner lessons from Dad, and made my way to the testing station in June. Even though I was really nervous, I took that darn test, and I passed !! The risk was always there- that I may fail, yet that door to opportunity was the one I knocked on.
It opened -I passed - and I am still love driving to this day. Heck I am so 'married to my car" that I can hardly surrender it for an oil change !!
What risk have you taken that worked out for you, and moved you forward? Maybe there is a risk you have been pondering on taking lately. Go ahead, prepare for it the best way you can, and take the risk anyway. It's all for experience, this thing called Life; a bit risky at times.

A quote to finish with Wherever you go, no matter the weather, be sure to bring your sunshine! |
So thanks for hanging in and reading down to this far - Congrats ! I do hope you can take away something of value and use it this month for yourself. Remember, it's ok to know Life is a little Risky from time to time - but that is does not mean it's all bad.
Till next month, I remain, Cathy |
